你的微笑 – 侯磊
I’ve been slowly making my way through the second season of The Voice, and heard 侯磊 sing his 你的微笑 that he wrote for 那英’s album。
I love her version a lot, I really do. But i chose to talk about his performance, because there is something about being able to sing the words you wrote.
The process of songwriting is an act of trust.
You have to believe that if you embrace yourself with honesty, you can turn that struggle into something that will reach the hearts of other people.
侯磊’s is the original, it is the demo that 那英 and her team would have heard, perhaps with less power, less honesty, but true nonetheless.
For her to ask him to sing this at this point in the competition is meaningful on an infinite number of levels, and you can hear it in his voice, the original story that created this song, but also the deep desire he has to stand on the stage and sing his own work.
This makes it unlike any other.
